SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

 

When you contact us via our website, as part of providing a quote for your website design or editing work, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

 

When you browse our site, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

 

Email marketing: With your permission, we may send you emails about our site, new products and other updates.

How we collect data

We collect data through direct interactions including when you:

  • fill out a contact form or quote request form on our website 

  • call or email to ask about our services

  • give us feedback

 

We also collect data automatically too through cookies and our website server logs to learn more about our website visitor’s browsing actions and usage patterns. Please see the cookies section for more information.

How we use data

We will use your personal data to:

 

  1. register you as a new client

  2. manage payment

  3. collect and recover monies owed to us

  4. to manage our relationship with you

  5. send you details of our services and any special offers .

 

Our legal grounds for processing your data are in relation to points 1 to 4 above are for performance of a contract with you and in relation to 5, necessary for our legitimate interests to develop our products/services and grow our business.

 

The only other time we are legally permitted to use your data is where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

 

 

SECTION 2 - CONSENT

 

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to provide you with a quote or contact us directly for work done on your website, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

 

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no, such as an opt-out/unsubscribe option in any email marketing we may send you.

 

 

How do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at tpdigital@thepolera.co.uk in the first instance.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

 

 

SECTION 4 - SECURING & STORING OF DATA

Some of our third party providers are businesses outside of the EEA in countries, which do not always offer the same levels of protection for your personal data. We do our best to ensure a similar degree of security by ensuring that contracts, code of conduct or certification are in place which give your personal data the same protection it has within Europe. 

 

If we are not able to do so, we will request your explicit consent to the transfer and you can withdraw this consent at any time.

 

We only keep your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it. We may retain your data to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

 

Protecting your data is important to us and we have put in place security measures with Wix to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We also limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know such data. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

 

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breaches and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

 

SECTION 5 -  THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

 

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

 

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

 

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

 

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

 

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Use.

 

 

SECTION 6 - WIX 

 

Our site is hosted on Wix . They provide us with the online platform that allows us to promote our products and services to you.

 

Your data is stored through Wix’s data storage, databases and the general Wix application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

 

SECTION 7 - PAYMENT

 

If you choose a direct payment gateway to pay our invoice, then we will issue you with a PayPal invoice. PayPal may store your credit card data if this is an option you select. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

 

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

 

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

SECTION 8 - LINKS

 

When you click on links on our site, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

 

SECTION 9 - SECURITY

 

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

 

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

 

SECTION 10 - COOKIES

 

There are two types of cookies (both used on Wix sites):

Session (Transient) cookies: these cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

Persistent (Permanent/Stored) cookies: these cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. These cookies are used to collect identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behaviour or user preferences for a specific site.

If our site is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
